Coming Around

Projects are all about coming around today.

Passacaglia Rosette 1:

With a wry sense of irony, I have chosen a print with little hexagons for this pentagonal rosette.

 I have to say it's a pleasure to use inklingo on something larger than the 3/8" hexagon project!

My printer does not allow me to specify the dimensions of a custom page size. I have a lot of fabric already cut into strips for my Scrap Users System, including the one I would like to use in the next pentagon ring in this rosette.

So, I first printed a guide sheet in Black and White:

I set my freezer paper sheet shiny side up on that, and lined my strips up so I could get enough pentagons on the 2.5" strips that I had on hand. Pressed the top side with a press cloth to avoid getting FP gunk on my iron. Then followed the normal inklingo process.

Speaking of inklingo, Linda and Monkey are starting a small, fun mystery project that will strengthen certain inklingo skills. If you are curious, this is a great way to explore this fast technique for precision piecing. You can always have a go-bag with small bits of a project to work on, and you don't have to baste your pieces to paper like with EPP.

Wreath Project:

Thought my wreath was done, but I stared at it on the design wall from across the room, and it looked like some of the edges needed to be filled in with a few more green hexagons to round it out. So, I am doing that. Will post a pic when it's looking right to me.
